ToneBlender 9.1 5.1 Head/Combos

Incorporating two independently discrete channels, the Tone Blender's clean channel is cut from the same mold as our Fralin model, loved for it's big round clean chimney tones. We've combined it with our benchmark all tube overdrive circuit found in our Earthquake 5.1/ 9.1 and Derringer series amps. Our OD circuit serves up a smooth rich organic tone, capable of delivering a very touch responsive growl that only our all tube overdrive built into the amp can produce.

VVT is proud to offer its most bold and promising design to date. Completely hand made right down to the hardwood accents.

Front Panel Features:

Channel One: input gain output master, high mid low controls.
Channel Two features: input gain output master, high, mid, low controls.
Power amp features: presence and Master Vol for tailoring of power amp.

HRM. Internal tone controls, Treble,Middle,Bass for fine tuning overdrive channel.

Finally finished!!. The design process of our Earthquake series Overdrives has taken nearly four years to perfect and let me tell you it was worth the wait. Built with the highest quality components, the 9.1 will astonish you with a warm smooth surprisingly articulate tone. The entire audio path is all tube and is completely hand built just like the rest of our amps.

Available in 100 and 50 watt models, although we recommend the 100 watt model.

Both 9.1 and 5.1 is designed with two independent channels. The clean channel is identical to that of our famous Lindy Fralin model voiced primarily for a big warm clean Fender type tone and feel. The overdrive side incorporates the HRM topology. This utilizes additional tone controls inside the amplifier giving you a finer tuning of the tone controls on the front of the amp enabeling you to easily shape the tone of the overdrive channel.

The overdrive channel gives you a total of 4 complete gain stages, the last two controlled by a gain and volume control enabling you to adjust the amount of pre amp saturation as well as some bite, the second is a level control allowing you to adjust the volume of the OD channel. This control also allows you to dial in the right amount of meat into the signal.

Still not enough? Hit the pre amp boost in OD mode and away you go, warm rich fat smooth 12AX7 driven tone that you will never ever get from any pedal. Other features include a middle select switch for going between Single Coils or Hum buckers. A bright switch for those dark rooms, and a master volume for both channels.

Set up for your choice of 6L6's, EL-34's, *6V6's (JJ Tesla's only) KT-66's KT-77's and 6550's.

(Please Read) The 9.1 is not an amp for everyone who wants an amp with overdrive. The Overdrive channel was not voiced for Thrash metal, Punk Rock or Grunge. This amp was designed primarily for Classic/Hard Rock, Jazz Fusion, and Blues. Though if you just like playing clean this amp will cover that nicely.

*JJ Tesla's are the only 6V6 tubes we can recommend because of their ability to withstand the higher plate voltage of this design.
