"The Earthquake truly is a no-brainer. You plug it in, turn up the volume and you have instant tone! The flexibility of my new VVT Earthquake is amazing. I find it so easy to go from the sound I am hearing in my head to what comes out of the speakers without any compromises. The ability to fine-tune the settings on the Earthquake give it a unique ability to be more than just one amp. This amp can grow and change with your needs and the style of music you're playing ..... that's very rare in any guitar amp these days."

"Another thing that I love about my Earthquake is the fact that it's such a beauty. I get as many compliments on the way it looks as much as the way it sounds!"

The inspiration behind the Earthquake Overdrive series was to design a well balanced, highly versatile amplifier that
covers a broad range of tonal qualties, but most importantly an amp that is truly musical in voice as well as a blast to play.
The chameleon like tonal properties our overdrive series produces range from a warm clean strident hifi like clean channel, to a boost mode serving up a midrange snarl giving you the ability to lighten up and still cut thru the mix.

The overdrive channel consists of two separate controls. First is the drive control for setting the amount of preamp tube saturation as well as the amount of compression. The second control is the balance level, giving you control of the overall overdrive level. We voiced the overdrive channel for a smooth, rich, thick and creamy overdrive that is harmonically complex and touch responsive. Although we set up every amp that leaves here, we have incorporated additional individual tone controls inside the amp giving you the flexibility to adjust the overall tone of the overdrive section to taste. Finally, if you want a singing over the top feedback on virtually any note, hit the boost in overdrive mode and experience a high gain tone that unlike so many amps today, is rich, complex and musical.

Just like the rest of our amps, the entire audio signal path is fully tube driven . The Overdrive features a separate regulated power supply for operateing both overdrive and preamp boost channels for lowest possible noise and consistent tone, despite line voltage variations. Mil spec resistors provide a low hiss, high stability design. High quality tone and coupling caps are used for a smooth, warm natural tone. The output stage features separate 4 and 8 and 16ohm outputs, AC and standby switches, as well as a detachable IEC power cord and external fuse. faceplates printed on brushed aluminum covered with a thick high quality vinyl. We use a combination of point to point and eyelet PC board construction designed by us exclusively for our amps. All componets are installed and soldered by hand. All tubes mounted directly to the chassis. By using single point grounding, the amp is quiet and free of hum at all operating levels.High current power transformers and audiophile grade output transformers by Mercury Magnetics are standard, and are custom built to our specifications. Many of these techniques are used in the finest audiophile and tube studio equipment, and are unique to our guitar amps.
We at VVT feel that for the money you pay for a Custom Boutique amp it should not only sound incredible but should also
look good as well. All of our Overdrives come standard with cabinet grade plywood covered in White or Black tolex, lacquered Tigerstripe
Maple trim and brushed metal fronts in gold or silver.
