Rick Derringer’s career began when he was just seventeen years old when his band The McCoys recorded what would become the number one song in America in 1965 “Hang on Sloopy”. He has recorded and performed with Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Steely Dan, Alice Cooper, Todd Rundgren, and even produced for Weird Al Yankovic. Derringer’s long list of credits only continues to grow as he recently toured with Ringo Starr, and continues his extensive writing, recording and touring schedule.  VVT has worked with Rick for a long time now, first designing the Rick Derringer Hyperdrive which he used almost exclusively for his 2009 release “Knighted by the Blues”. Now, Rick is also road testing the X-Model Preamp that VVT anticipates making available to the rest of the planet sometime in 2013.
